Brief History

Persatuan Jururawat Infusi Malaysia (PJIM) is the Bahasa Malaysia term for the Infusion Nurses Society Malaysia (INSM). It was officially registered (PPM-001-10-20102019) as a non-governmental organisation with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia on 20th October 2019. The society was founded by a group of fifteen (15) nurses from academia, management, and clinical areas, with the vision of establishing a specialised cohort of infusion nurses capable of advancing best practices through training, education, and dissemination of standards in all aspects of infusion therapy management.

INSM has been an affiliate of the Infusion Nurses Society since its formation. The Infusion Nurses Society, based in the United States, is a global organisation representing infusion nurses and other clinicians specialising in infusion therapy.

INSM’s first annual general meeting was held on 15th August 2020.

Puan Radhiati (Hon.Secretary) and En Firdaus (Vice President - Media and Publicity) attended Program Professional Chit Chat by National Archives Malaysia on 28 October 2024. The invitation was meant to create awareness on the archives role of collecting, storing and preserving documents, photos, data etc of organisations such as INSM for references by researchers and interested parties.

President Dr Jeya Devi Coomarasamy and two Vice Presidents of INSM, Ms Faizatul Dara Ariffin and Mr Muhammad Firdaus had a cordial meeting with President Dato’ Dr Yong Chow Yen and the Director of Strategy and Planning, Associate Professor Dato’ Dr Wan Rahiza Wan Mat from the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists. The discussion focused on guidelines and training related to vascular access management.
