ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION

FRIDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2022 TO SUNDAY 9 OCTOBER 2022

A roundtable discussion was held at Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre from Friday 7th October 2022 to Sunday 9 October 2022 with the main objective to develop three (3) evidence-based guidelines:

• Develop and disseminate standards of practice.
• Provide opportunities for continuous professional development and education in infusion care and other related areas.
• Advance best practices through research.
• Support professional certification in infusion care and related practices.

Thirty nurses from academia, management and clinical from West Malaysia were invited to participate in this discussion and come with a draft. Two of INS Malaysia advisors, Prof. Dr. Sasheela Sri La Sri Ponnampalavanar (Consultant Infectious Disease Physician, University Malaya Medical Centre) and Mr. Ong Ee Yan (Pharmacist, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM) were at hand to share two vital areas of importance – infection control and medication errors.

The discussion was made possible through an educational grant from our corporate partner 3M
